Fujian Medical University (Chinese: 福建医科大学) is a university located in Fuzhou, Fujian, China. Fujian Medical University was founded 1937, whose precursor was Fujian Provincial Medical Vocational School. The name of the school was changed to Fujian Provincial Medical College in 1939 and was called Fujian Medical College in 1949. In 1969, after it was merged with Fujian Chinese Traditional Medical College and the medical department of Overseas Chinese University, Fujian Medical University was founded and moved to Quanzhou, Fujian. It was moved back to Fuzhou in 1978. The name of the school was changed back to Fujian Medical College in 1982 and then changed back to the present name in April 1996
FJMU currently provides 25 bachelor programs, including Clinical Medicine (7-Year Program and 5-Year Program), Stomatology, Preventive Medicine, Medical Laboratory Tests and Analysis, Anesthesiology, Medical Imaging, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Utilities Management, Social Work, e.t.c. At present, in Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Stomatology and Pharmacology, FJMU confers doctoral degrees, as well as master’s degrees which also cover Biology, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Pharmacy, and Social Medicine and Health Care Management.
